An Addition to the Homemade Cleaners

I went looking for a homemade dishwasher detergent recipe and found a super easy one.

Here it is:

Step 1: Add one tablespoon of Super Washing Soda to the dishwasher dispenser
Step 2: Add one tablespoon of 20 Mule Team Borax to the dishwasher dispenser
Step 3: Pour a little distilled white vinegar into the dispenser for the clear rinse gel.

Now, I'm a pretty die-hard Cascade gal, but I'm going to give it a whirl one of these days. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I've tried it. It works and gets them clean but it did leave a film on my things... I can't have film.

Yea, I'm not sure that this will work for me either, but I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for letting me know about your experience.

Well, I am going to attempt this too. I found today a recipe for homemade dish liquid soap. It is on my what you cookin blog, but here it is:

Liquid Castile Soap

Using liquid castile soap is the easiest way to make your own dish soap, as the base is already made for you. All you have to do is add a few ingredients, mix it up, and voila! You can purchase liquid castile soap at most health food stores. Here's what you need:homemade dish soap

* 2 cups of castile soap
* A few drops of essential oil
* 1/2 cup of water

Castile Soap is in the soap isle with dove etc and cheap. I may go and get this too to try.
